Staying motivated to learn a new language is hard.

But everyone loves new music—and international stars have been topping the charts lately.

So, let’s give people a chance to show their real devotion to their favorite international artists: by actually learning all the lyrics to their songs (and a new language while they’re at it.)

To engage international music fans, Duo will help them understand the lyrics and meaning behind popular global music genres like reggaeton and K-pop.

Themed Duos for different artists and groups will help connect with the fandoms at large. The focus is superfans of Bad Bunny, BTS, Atarashii Gakko, Måneskin and Molchat Doma.

WhatsApp Ambush

On WhatsApp, different themed Duos will infiltrate fan group chats, putting members to the test to prove their true dedication to their fandoms.

Out of Home

These Out of Homes will lead fans to learning-friendly Spotify playlists. The songs will range from easiest to hardest, allowing fans to track their progress and see how far they've come.

Duo will crash concert lines and challenge fans to put their lyrical knowledge to the test, rewarding them with prizes to show off their status as true international music fans.

If fans continue to extend their streaks, Duolingo will release special courses that allow users to learn commonly used slang and pronunciations through lyrics.

They will also receive video messages from their favorite artists and access to limited edition merchandise.
